(Newswire.net — March 30, 2013) Chicago, IL — Thousands of people will meet April 19-21, 2013 in Chicago, Illinois at a conference designed to teach others how to supplement their income through blogging.  This event, sponsored by the Empower Network, will be held at the Rosemont Theatre and has nearly sold out already.

Recognizing the demand for networking face-to-face in an internet-based industry, David Wood and David Sharpe, the company’s CEOs and co-founders, organized the first such marketing conference in Atlanta, Georgia last summer.  Since then, they’ve held events in San Diego, California, and most recently in Austin, Texas, with thousands in attendance each time.  At the upcoming event in Chicago, people from around the globe will meet and discuss marketing strategies for monetizing their blogs.  Those in attendance will range from complete newbies to more experienced veterans, each with the primary goal of learning how to earn more money through blogging.

Since Empower Network began in 2011, it has grown rapidly, just passing the 100,000 member mark this year.  The company has had its share of setbacks, however.  Merchant account issues plagued them the first few months, and social media giant Facebook banned their URL links from the site last August.  Wood and Sharpe see these as typical growing pains and have no plans of slowing down.  Their plan is to hold events like the one in Chicago every 3 months, allowing their members to connect with and learn from each other.

Attendees for the Chicago event will not only participate in sessions packed full of information about online marketing and blogging, but they’ll get a chance to rub shoulders with Wood, Sharpe, and others who’ve successfully turned their passion for blogging into a full-time business.  For many, the chance to learn from other successful people in their industry in a non-virtual setting is priceless.
