Strong Economy a Boon for Property Managers and Even a Tampa Locksmith

(Newswire.net — March 30th, 2013) Tampa, FL — After years of doom and gloom, the Tampa real estate market is seeing signs of a turn-around.  The Tampa market saw October sales rise 33 percent from the same time last year – an indicator that is attracting many service companies to set up shop in Tampa.

Tampa’s strengthening real estate market is representative of many other markets in the U.S.  For example, in Texas, single-family property managers are seeing record growth in the number of homes under professional management.  At a recent regional NARPM meeting, several speakers touched on the rosy outlook of their industry. NARPM stands for the National Association of Residential Property Managers.

There is ripple effect to this growth.  Mr. Rekey Locksmith – an Austin, TX headquartered locksmith franchise focused on serving property managers and realtors – recently selected Tampa as its14th location after evaluating other growing markets throughout the country.

Many of Mr. Rekey’s clients in the Tampa area as well their other locations are members of NARPM.  Ken Jennings – CEO of Mr. Rekey Locksmith said, “We love working with NARPM members because educated clients make our job so much easier.  They value good processes and procedures, which makes us more efficient and ultimately saves them and us time and money. Everybody wins!”

Said Mr. Jennings, “The expansion into the Tampa locksmith market was driven by the demand generated by our existing Orlando operation. .It became difficult for us to service a growing Tampa market from Orlando, so it made sense to open this location.  Property managers are a close-knit community.  When they find a good vendor, the word spreads quickly.”

Property managers typically fare well when real estate markets are in flux.  As long as markets are growing or contracting, their services are in demand.  Similarly, realtors specializing in foreclosures generally endured the “down” market.  Residential locksmiths such as Mr. Rekey, thrive as long as people are moving.  “When there is an imbalance in supply and demand for housing the phones keep ringing,” said Jennings.

Another key indicators is the influx of retailers to the Tampa area.  ABC News reports that The Container Store will be opening a Tampa store this weekend.

Local job growth is expected to continue as the Tampa market continues to grow.  Mr. Rekey, for example, hired a local lead Tampa locksmith who received several weeks of intensive hands-on training at Mr. Rekey’s locksmith training center in Pflugerville – a suburb of Austin, TX.  “We will hire and train additional local locksmiths in Tampa as our business expands.  That model has served us well in the past,” stated Jennings.
