FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Newswire.net – March 5, 2013) Denver, CO – When Mike Glenn joined the NBA, and even before when he made a promise to his deaf and Hard of Hearing friends from the neighborhood and school where his father taught, he never imagined that he would be changing so many lives by the love of basketball that he had.

Fostered by his father who taught at a deaf school in Goergia, Mike became friends with many kids who only had a chance to play basketball because of his father’s care for children who didn’t have the same opportunities as other kids.  When Mike , known by the nickname Stinger, got onto the hardwoods in college and eventually the NBA, he knew he had to keep his promise of creating a basketball camp for defa and hard of hearing teens and those who were underpriveleged, to give them the opportunity to learn life lessons though the game of basketball.

“These are kids who would not have the chance to learn how to really play basketball other than on the streets. It gives them a chance to meet professional players, coaches, and others who have attended the camps.” Mike Glenn has hosted these camps for 33 years, and have helped change the lives of thousands of teens from around the Atlanta, GA area and from many adjoining states.

The movie was written by Darla Rae and Film It Productions created the screenplay and produced the movie in record time in the Denver, CO area. It is having a screening debut in Denver and Atlanta in the same week after having won it’s first national award at the Texas Christian Film Festival in Houston. It garnered the “Best Inspirational Movie” title at this years festival.

The movie was created for a broad audience of families who enjoy sport and inspirational movies, and to also allow for a large and growing segment of the population that has had no movies produced that could be seen and enjoyed by those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.  This segment of the population continues to grow, especially with the aging population. This movie gives everyone a wholesome experience in a theater or eventually home studio environment.

Spirit of Love will be promoted across the country, simliar to the movie “The Blind Side” and others that have a message of overcoming adversity and helping people understand each other and use the storyline as a way to help bring about discussion and offer alternatives to difficult situations.

Spirit of Love, the Mike Glenn story is now into the next phase making decisions regarding distribution partners, and the avenue that best supports their message, theme and targeted demographic.
