(Newswire.net — May 6, 2013) Washington DC — The Direct Sales Association estimates that women make up approximately 80 percent of Direct Sales persons in the United States.

According to the Direct Sales Association website an estimated 15.6 million people are involved in direct selling in the U.S., and more than 92 million worldwide. About 80 percent of US direct sellers are women.

David Sharpe co-founder of Empower Network (a direct sales internet marketing company) said “We also have a lot of up and coming women leaders that are genuine and beautiful from the inside out.

Most people don’t realize that over 70% of the Network Marketing/MLM distributor force is women. As dudes, we often have this awful tendency to “Check Out” when a female leader starts to speak. (I’ve admittedly had my moments of guilt) This is incredibly stupid, because they are speaking the language that resonates with over 70% of our teams and prospects.”

What is “Direct Sales”? Direct Sales is a method of getting a product or service to a consumer. This distribution system relies on the services of independent sales representatives, eliminating the need for a retail outlet for the product or services. The sales through this distribution system are growing rapidly—almost $30 billion in 2011. *Statistics from the Direct Selling Association (DSA).
