First time author Jacklin Yalmeh has written a children’s book called Scruffy and the Blue hazelnut Tree.  It is the story of Scruffy the Squirrel and his friend Owl.  This children’s book is the first in a series called Scruffy’s Adventures.

The thirty-six page picture book is written for younger children and includes colorful full-page original artwork.  The story begins with Scruffy eating a nut from the forbidden Blue Hazelnut Tree.  After shrinking to the size of an ant, Scruffy sets off with Owl to find the magical Blue Hazelnut tree in order to regain his size.

The adventure follows Scruffy in a quest for the magical tree and the tests he must pass.  After successfully answering the questions and regaining his size, he realizes a new respect for Owl and recognizes that he must listen to him.

“I am so happy to be publishing my first children’s book.  It has been a labor of love to create this,” said Jacklin.  “I have so many books that I want to write.  Kid’s books are such a joy to write.  I look forward to publishing many more.”

Scruffy and the Blue Hazelnut Tree has been published in paperback and will shortly be available in a digital edition.  It will be published on Amazon’s Kindle platform in May, 2013.

This book is the first in a series of children’s books called Scruffy’s Adventures.  Forthcoming books include Scruffy Helps a Bird, Scruffy and the Giraffe and Scruffy Finds a Friend.  Jacklin has also written a young children’s alphabet book called Scruffy and the Alphabet that will be published soon.  Fore more information on the book, go to izgoolmedia.com.
