STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA / June 3, 2013 / Newswire/ — Viratech Corp. (OTC: VIRA), the first open source biotech research social network platform, announced today the signing of a letter of intent for a Joint Venture with California based Nanobeak Inc. to further develop NASA device to detect Volatile Organic Compounds (“VOC’s”) in breath tests that may be associated with infectious diseases, cancer, and other medical problems for screening purposes.  The device currently in existence is about the size of a postage stamp and plugs into a cell phone to collect, process, and transmit the testing data to anywhere in the world.

Dr. Kevin Buckman, the CEO of Viratech states, “The System is based on a proven vapor phase sensor for known molecules present in the breath of individuals and fully integrated with a smart phone app. It is capable of being interfaced with disease experts in a global network.”  Dr. Buckman has written a book called, “Breath Analysis,” and is also an expert on the need for Point of Care testing in third world countries and here domestically.

This technology, originally developed by NASA to identify biomarkers exhaled by astronauts in space flight, has now been developed for VOC screening to be both medically effective and economically affordable,” according to Dr. Buckman.

Viratech’s future goals include testing using the same handheld system for possible detection VOC’s associated with TB infections, cancer, and other diseases.
