(Newswire.net — June 25, 2013) Calgary, AB — Broadview Homes, Calgary’s premiere custom home builder, recently announced that they will open eight of their show homes to families affected by the recent flooding in Calgary. Torrential mountain rain led to massive flooding in and around Calgary resulting in fatalities and leaving tens of thousands of people homeless. Almost every aspect of daily life in and around the city was disrupted and only now is the area getting back to normal.

Broadview’s efforts are part of Qualico’s plans which includes short-, medium-, and long-term elements. As Glynn Hendry, Regional VP Qualico, said “We will donate resources and manpower to organizations helping Calgarians in need.”

Broadview Vice President Peter-John Woolf made the announcement as Calgary residents begin rebuilding from the massive flooding. According to Woolf, “Broadview Homes is a member of this community and we feel it our responsibility to help in any way we can. For that reason we are opening up our show homes to families in need of temporary housing, to provide them with some level of stability and some semblance of normalcy.”

Woolf and his team are in the process of preparing the eight show homes for the arrival of families in need of housing. They are equipping the homes with the necessary amenities and are working closely with the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) to make sure that all homes are ready when the families arrive. Several Broadview show suites are already being used by employees affected by the flooding and the larger show homes are perfect for families who cannot return to their own homes due to massive repairs required.

While the show homes are being occupied by displaced families, Broadview will continue normal business operations at their various communities. The sales centers at each development will remain open but will be separated and closed off to the main home of the show homes where families will reside.
