A recent article published by A Shoe In Fashion reports on the new company Custom Design Apparel founded by James Scott Tucker, Sunny Das and Zachary Cook, students at the University of Texas in Austin. According to the article, Custom Design Apparel was started by the three students in response to an opportunity they recognized for providing a standardized quality, price and level of service to University of Texas student organizations, fraternities, sororities and local businesses.

According to A Shoe In Fashion, James Scott Tucker realized that nearly every student organization set aside a portion of it’s budget for purchasing apparel, but since all of the organizations currently use different suppliers, it is difficult to make standardized budgeting decisions across organizations. Custom Design Apparel plans on solving this problem by offering complete custom apparel needs that will help make budgeting decisions easier.

A Shoe In Fashion reports that custom t-shirts and other pieces of apparel are a very popular way to promote fraternities, sororities, intramural teams, special interest clubs and other student organizations. The founders of Custom Design Apparel believe that they have access to a large market with unmet demands, and they expect that their position as members of the student body gives them a unique perspective that other apparel suppliers lack, thus adding to their competitive advantage.

“It’s great seeing students get in to entrepreneurship and design,” said Nadine Rowe, an editor of A Shoe In Fashion, “Of course, at A Shoe In Fashion we are really going to be looking at the quality of the design that Custom Design Apparel produces.”

“James and his team are offering a complete end to end service,” said Nadine Rowe, “That means that they will help customers with everything from the initial design all the way through order fulfillment. That’s a big challenge, but if they can execute well and come up with great design, I think it’s a plan for success.”

According to the recent article, James Scott Tucker and the other founders of Custom Design Apparel are planning on using all American-based suppliers and will be using vendors close to Austin, Texas wherever possible, to gain a competitive advantage by being able to deliver finished products quickly.
