According to the National Bureau of Economic Research, studies have demonstrated that women earn approximately three-quarters of what men earn and that women represent only 2.5 percent of the highest-paid positions at U.S. firms.
“This is happening in the corporate sector as well as for entrepreneurs and small business owners”. says Pound. “And it’s about time women stop blaming the establishment. They need to start seeing things differently and value themselves more so that they will command a higher price for their time and expertise, as well as for their products and services.”
Having coached thousands of business owners and employees from all around the world, Pound has found that many women don’t even consider negotiating, let alone develop skills to improve. “They wouldn’t even think of asking for a salary increase or a better deal from suppliers, and if it doesn’t even occur to them to do it, then the situation doesn’t improve.

According to Forbes.com, not negotiating can have some serious consequences in how women are perceived by others and can make them seem expendable or taken for granted.
Pound, a top business coach in Melbourne, has found that once women believe in their value and realise that asking for more or negotiating is an option, then they are on the right track. They then need to find out how to do it well and be brave enough to go for it.
The more they do it, the more they will improve things, not only for themselves but for other women as it becomes more part of the norm in businesses and workplaces around Australia.
“Of all the clients I have, it is usually the men who will be more comfortable to negotiate on price or conditions. I want to empower women to do the same, says Pound” The have a lot to offer and they ARE worth it.”
