Allan Donnelly has been in negotiations with the HABiT Building inspection Team for some time to provide his service to local residents in his area.
Allan says “I’ve been in the building game for over 28 years and building inspections comes as second nature to me.”
The partnership will be a starting point for covering the whole of the Sydney over the next 5 years. Both companies see a tremendous opportunity to provide a professional service to homeowners and buyers looking for reports that talk to them in their language. Open and honest communication is among the tenets of providing great inspections for the Habit. They both agree on this point and see a real difference that can be provided for in the highly competitive market.
Stephen Brien, one of the directors of The HABiT and has relocated his family to the Gold Coast from New Zealand says. “Aside from a company that can provide unrivalled customer service and professional and reliable reporting, our point of difference has come from years of experience dealing with homeowners and thousands of reports that have been carried out over the last 7 years the franchise has been in operation.”
He also says “Customers want an easy-to-understand report that talks to them in their language. Our reports have been developed to ensure that all information is passed over that is discovered along the way throughout the inspection. There are too many inspectors out there offering an incomplete and ambiguous reports. Some inspectors don’t like to give the cold hard facts as this may upset too many parties in the transaction.
With the ever-increasing pressure on the Government to regulate the industry especially around auctions, where too many buyers missing out on properties and ending up with a report that is worthless. Something has to give, there needs to be a fair and equitable split in this area.
There have been Government talks, where it may become compulsory for sellers to carry out a building inspection and make it available for potential purchasers, which would even up the score and make it much more affordable for buyers at Auction time. However some believe this may lead to biased reports.
“Brien says” I doubt very much this would happen, we still have to maintain our integrity as well as our insurance policies. It just doesn’t make sense, if we provided a biased report and we reported something that could come back and bite us later, why would you even contemplate that sort of risk.?”
Donnelly is in full agreement and has said that he wants to work in with local real estate firms to somehow come up with a solution that is fair and equitable for all parties, while the Government makes up it’s mind what it’s going to do.
Allan adds “I’m here to help and want to provide real value, if we can sort out some resolution by talking out some of the issues, then I’m sure we can provide a solution in the mean time.”
HABiT Building Inspections Hills District & Hornsby officially opens it’s doors today 30 September 2013.
