Norfolk Broads boat hire company, Herbert Woods, asked The Broads TV to take out their latest cruiser, launched in April 2013, and put it through its paces. “Sovereign Light” is a 44ft, 4 + 2 berth cruiser and was designed and built at the Potter Heigham based companies boat yard.

The Broads TV (an online TV channel for Norfolk Broads visitors) spent a few hours testing and filming the boats lower and upper decks features. “The ‘Sovereign Light’ is an impressive boat, especially with it’s spacious and very comfortable upper deck” explains The Broads TV’s producer, Dave West. “Before we took the boat out, we were concerned that its contemporary look and sleek lines would be all show and no substance, but we were glad to find that the Sovereign Light did in fact, live up to its “Elite Range” status. As well as having every mod con onboard, including satellite TV, we were also impressed by how easy it was to pilot this relatively big boat, which is partly down to its bow and stern thrusters. Visitors may have to pay a lot more for this boat, but we have to say, it’s worth it.”

Dave continued “One of the reasons we launched The Broads TV, was to find and film craft such as the Sovereign Light, and be able to show potential visitors to the Norfolk Broads what they can get for their money.” The full film on the Soveriegn Light can be seen on YouTube or on The Broads TV website.

The Broads TV are presently talking with a number of Norfolk Broads companies, and will now be looking to review more boats, holiday homes, pubs, restaurants and places of interest over the coming months. Their site also features films including tutorials and advice from the Broads Authority.
