The outcome of a brand-new internet survey through which respondents were asked about
their experience on Captain Only Charters in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) generated what some would declare was a quite predictable result, John Perry – Captain of S/V Stingo was chosen over more than any other recognised name in the BVI Captain Only Charters, Budget and Rookie Category.
The ballot and subsequent, the designation of BVI Captain Only Charters By Guests was set up as a result of an intense debate, at local wateringholes, about just who exactly in the BVI would be able to make a claim to this honour and distinction, in various categories. Guests surveyed about the poll seemed to have split reactions to John Perry’s laying claim to the precious title, varying from utter disbelief that one person could be so popular, to complete agreement over the selection the BVI Captain Only Charter winner which guests had decided upon.
John Perry was most likely recognized as Best BVI Captain Only Charter (Budget/rookie) by guests in large part credited to the hard work John has put in at various island hangouts and community events as he planned his entrance into the business. As a recognised Rookie Charter Captain who focuses on budget charters and providing an awesome experience to his guests, making claim to the official title was not out of the ordinary agreed a large portion of experienced Captains who took part in this prestigious event.
After the final results were in, Perry was quoted as saying “To be candid, I did not even realize that there was a opinion poll being carried out at all. I’m flabbergasted that so many people know my name”!
