(Newswire.net — November 14, 2013) Jasper, GA — BarrWood Cabinets has been privileged to provide numerous new cabinets in several rooms at Tate House. BarrWood will furnish Wellborn Cabinets in conjunction with Designer Maureen Desrosiers and Installer Brad Renson.

The new custom Wellborn Cabinets will improve the usable space in each room, and compliment the historic charm of the current decor. This will be a multi-phased project beginning with the Old Gate House. The second phase will include the Morning Kitchen on the second floor followed by the Main Kitchen on the main floor. Tate House has a fully operational commercial kitchen for events.

Tate House is famous for being built of rare pink marble, which was quarried from a massive vein of marble located on the property. Construction of the pink marble mansion began in 1920-21, and the 19,000 square foot structure became the home of the family of Colonel Sam Tate. The current owner of Tate House, Holbrook Properties, purchased the property in 2001 and has pledged to continue the restoration and improvement of Tate House to ensure that the property may be enjoyed and appreciated by generations to come.

Jim Barre, owner of BarrWood Cabinets, added, “BarrWood was honored by the invitation to provide new cabinets at Tate House. This is one of the most photographed privately owned homes in the state of Georgia, and we are very excited to add Wellborn Cabinets to this amazing piece of architectural history.”

Marsha Mann, of Tate House, stated, “Tate House plays host to a plethora of events. It is a very popular wedding venue, and can also be rented for banquets, cocktail parties, corporate retreats, and other special events. We offer tours of the house Monday through Thursday year-round. We will be hosting special Christmas buffet lunch tours by reservation only in the month of December. Weekend tours will also be made available in December, featuring holiday refreshments; no reservations are necessary for these weekend tours. For those looking for the perfect wedding venue, we are also hosting a bridal open house in March 2014.”

Mann continued, “Georgia Magazine recently named Tate House one of the top “Must See” places in Georgia. We encourage locals and visitors to check our website for tour dates and times, and join us for a stroll through the property and refreshments afterward.”
