Dudley Media Group Wonders Why Justine Sacco Tweeted Before Thinking

(Newswire.net — December 25, 2013) Las Vegas, NV  — The Dudley Media Group article begins with a picture of Justine Sacco wearing a hoodie with the controversial tweet about her trip to Africa, then states “Have you ever said something really stupid that you wish you could take back? Or maybe you tweeted something or posted something on Facebook that you realize makes you look like a total jerk? You quickly go back and delete it hoping the few friends you have on your social-media accounts didn’t see it. If you said it, well, there are no takebacks. Only regret. Now, imagine Justine Sacco’s situation.”

This tweet has won Justine Sacco the top spot on the World’s Most Hated List, because that tweet went viral very quickly spreading across the net! She claims it was a joke just for her friends, but this tweet not only went viral, it backfired and pushed Phil Robertson out and her into first place of the “People We Love to Hate” list. This is a real slap in the face for Justine Sacco, since she is a PR executive for IAC.

This tweet “Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white!” not only brought Justine Sacco, a person noone had ever heard of, into the spotlight, it has brought her a considerable amount of very bad press. Bad press is not something a PR executive would want, if they value their career. Really, who would hire a PR executive or their firm, if they had to worry about slanderous remarks being posted on the Internet for the world to read!

Justine immediately saw the error of her ways and not only deleted the tweet, but deleted her entire twitter account. The problem is that tweet spread like wildfire the moment she tweeted it, and there are no takebacks once a social media post has been grabbed by even one other person. All is fair game at that point, and the tweet was passed from one twitterer to another as fast as they could hit the re-tweet button!

The Dudley Media Group article printed, “Sacco will likely not need to worry about getting AIDS while in Africa, because she will probably not be staying long. She is probably fired by now. Her company released a statement about the incident, ‘This is an outrageous, offensive comment that does not reflect the views and values of IAC.’ The employee was in flight and therefore unreachable, but Twitter is blowing up with the hashtag, “HasJustineLandedYet” with armchair critics guessing what may happen to the young woman when she does get off the plane.”

The nightmare for Justine Sacco does not end there, because one of her loyal (or so she thought) twitter followers went as far as publishing her personal phone number on Twitter! Justine now has to get a new phone number, look for a new job (good luck finding one in the PR industry Justine!), which probably explains the hoodie. Online newspapers are already publishing many of Justine’s offensive remarks from the past, with her whole life now under the microscope.

The popular trending topics website The Dudley Media Group ended their article with, “Just a word of warning, be careful how much hate you dole out. You never know when it is going to be your turn. Karma is a bitch and one of these days, you will say something really stupid and find yourself being the person the world loves to hate for 15 minutes. People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw rocks.”
