(Newswire.net — February 10, 2014) Franklin, TN — Williamson County Schools awarded OI Furniture’s RFP #890 on June 3, 2013.
Bids for WCS’ furniture contract arise every 5 years. When a contract is granted, most furniture purchases for the counties new and existing schools are directed to the contracted company. In June 2013, a John Harvey-owned company won WCS’s approval for the third time.
Adam Cohen, Vice President of Sales at OI, explained the aspects of OI’S RFP #890, which set the contract apart from other proposals, “As our software improves, so does our ability to specify a proposal. OI Software: OI, Inc. is an industry leader in providing web-enhanced furniture and equipment solutions. With over 20 years in the industry, OI’s “best practices” approach sets us aside from the competition.”
Along with a sales staff with over 20 years of knowledge and expertise, OI offered the sources of 45 manufacturers on its RFP #890 contract.
Kirk Elliott has been WCS’s purchasing manager for 15 years. When asked what he was looking for in a furniture supplier, he replied, “A comprehensive solution, a dealer who could offer a competitive level price and a number of brands to address the different furniture needs of a district of this size.”
OI’s convenient Franklin location added to the company’s list of attractive facets. In addition to offering speedy service to WCS, OI offered the school system a storage facility, which is subleased to WCS at a very competitive rate.
When asked what it meant to OI and its sales staff to have this contract re-awarded by Williamson County Schools, Adam Cohen said, “(It’s) extremely important, and (it) means everything.”
OI Furniture’s RFP #890 is a piggyback (allowable) contract and may be utilized by other counties and schools in the state of Tennessee in lieu of bidding out projects to purchase their furniture needs.
