(Newswire.net — April 2, 2014)  —  Metropolitan Fine Arts and Antiques has recently acquired a line of rings faceted with diamonds and the prized jewels of the South Sea. Tahitian South Sea pearls, commonly known as black pearls, are products of the black-lipped oyster, native to French Polynesia. Although the pearls are sometimes black in color, their true color range is varied. Some so-called “black” pearls are actually green, gray, or even a cream-colored white.

Paired with stunning diamonds, the black pearls truly make a statement. According to owner Irving Morano, “This collection of rings is truly made for the discerning customer. Any woman who is lucky enough to wear one of these will absolutely stand out in her circle of friends”. The ring collection arrives on the heels of the gallery’s redesigned storefront at 10 W. 57th St., in the center of Manhattan. The remodeled store provides more room to house the vast selection of antiques, gems, and fine jewelry the owners carry.

The gallery, a collector’s dream, also offers a large selection of 17th-century hand-carved Japanese carvings. Additionally, Metropolitan Fine Arts and Antiques offers French hand-cut Lalique collection items, as well as Baccarat crystal items, one-of-a-kind chess sets, exquisite lamps, glass and crystal chandeliers and bronze sculptures not found anywhere else. “We have items that you won’t find anywhere else in the world,” said Morano of the store’s collection. He added, “Metro doesn’t randomly accept any pieces. Our customers demand and deserve the best, and that is what we provide them”.
