(Newswire.net — August 21, 2014) Franklin, Tennessee — On July 11, 2014, Harpeth Youth Soccer Association/ Nashville Football Club Youth’s director, Laban Defriese, called Franklin Stone’s CEO John Harvey. He asked if Franklin Stone could help with the soccer association’s sod project. By July 14, 2014, Harvey had completely organized the project, contracted the key partners and commissioned a professional crew to install 45,000 square feet of Bermuda sod over 19 fields on a new soccer complex in Bellvue, TN. HYSA/ Nashville FC Youth purchased the sod “at cost.” Due to the partnership of sponsors Delek and Franklin Stone, this huge capital project was completed very quickly at 1/3 of the retail price.
The Harpeth Youth Soccer Association (HYSA), is a (501)(3)(c) Non-Profit organization. HYSA formed in 1991 as a Recreation League four recreation divisions for both boys & girls, Ages U3- U18. In 2014, HYSA created Nashville FC Youth to carry on the competitive select soccer division of the club.
HYSA/ Nashville FC Youth’s director, Laban Defriese, expressed his excitement on behalf of everyone in his soccer association. Defriese said, “The sod has come in beautifully, and the fields look great overall. We will host a Tournament October 17, 18, 19. We expect the fields to be in first class shape for the tournament.”
When we asked Defriese how John Harvey became involved with HYSA/Nashville FC Youth, Defriese replied, “John Harvey has four talented kids in youth soccer. He has been very active as a soccer board member and volunteer for about nine years now. We have successfully partnered on multiple projects. John Harvey’s participation and commitment to the growth of youth soccer in Middle TN is second to none. When you need a problem solved or taking on a big project, John has always been there to lend a hand and help make it happen.”
Defriese credits HYSA/Nashville FC Youth’s sudden growth to its new main partner and sponsor, Delek US Holdings. “Because of Delek and the work our new staff has put in since taking over HYSA late this Spring, key partners and sponsors like Franklin Stone (owned by John Harvey) want to get involved with what we’re doing.
