(Newswire.net — November 24, 2014) Raleigh, NC — Boasting of over 6,640 FB views, at the time of the writing of this article, in less than 24 hours took Christi Kropp, author of the noted post, by complete surprise. “I was especially drawn to writing this article because I myself am a mother, I’ve had multiple c-sections, and I am a plus size mom too.” To view the viral post, see, 2 for 1 Special in the Operating Room
Christi further said her post was originally inspired by the creative Victoria’s Secret C-Section article because of its social commentary on who and what women and mothers have become in our society. We want to be perfect, and fit the mold of what others define as perfect, so much so, we are willing to put our bodies through up to 4 hours of surgery trying to come out of delivery better than we went in. Christi rejects that idealism for special reasons of her own.
Years back, Christi was told she would never have children. The reasons are long, complex, and highly personal so she asked to skip the details. She fully expected her first one to be the only child she ever had. “She was my miracle and who could ask for more than one?” Now, she and her husband have 6 beautiful rambunctious children. And, people ask her if she is done? “I reply simply we’ll see. My doctor and I know my body. And, Heavenly Father knows my heart and capacity. I truly believe when my family is complete, God will let me know. “
Her faith has helped her conclude, instead of saying “Oh, I gained so much with this baby,” or “Now my skin will look so saggy,” or even “Now I can get some of the extra trimmed off so I can fit into that skirt,” we should be saying look how beautiful I am. We should be able to embrace how beautiful we always have been. And, contrary to what society may be pushing us to believe, being a mother is a beautiful thing, no matter what our size.
Christi stated she loves being able to write for healthyfamilygrowth.com She feels it is an amazing site which offers a lot of opportunity to discuss and explore content which perhaps would have otherwise passed been passed by. Furthermore, she finds the reason behind the website touching and significant (discussed in the very fist post listed on the site). She says “It shows so much of why the site is important and the character of the man behind it. It is very easy to see pain, suffering, and loss then assume someone else will step up. instead of taking a stance of someone else will do it, he stepped up and found a significant and long term way to help a family during their time of loss and beyond.”
Christi believes the site, and the Facebook page (Facebook.com/HealthyFamilyGrowth), both work toward this cause, but not with a search for handout approach, but instead, with a hand up approach, for all involved. And, Healthy Family Growth believes it has benefited from a creative and talented author whose depth of character is not easily matched.
