(Newswire.net — December 16, 2014) — Army Veteran turned professional marksman Scott Tucker is scheduled to open his own shooting range later this year. Featuring indoor and outdoor ranges, it will be one of the largest in the area. Tucker has received several marksmanship awards and won competitions both locally and on the national level.

“This range will be one of the best in the country,” said Tucker. “I am very proud of it and all the work my team has put in. I know I can be a little stubborn at times and they all dealt with it in stride. The last touches will be put on within the month so excitement is definitely brewing.”

Tucker started shooting at an early age, followed by a stint in the US Army. His love of marksmanship informed his decision to create a shooting range, as well the design of the range itself. Many of Tucker’s friends from his years of Army service will be teaching self-defense and marksmanship classes.

“Because of my army contacts I was able to avoid a lot of hiring problems and get swiftly through the ones that inevitably did occur,” said Tucker. “I am grateful for how fast the process went once we got the ball rolling, and am happy that I’ll be able to stay close with my Army buddies.”

In addition to the range’s fully stocked rental area, it will also be equipped with a full children’s section for ages five years and up with specialized targets and games designed to teach safety foremost. For Tucker, safety is always the biggest concern especially when dealing with children.

“We will be one of the first ranges in the country to offer such an expansive program for kids at such a young age and we have no illusions about that,” said Tucker. “It will also be at the instructors’ discretion to suspend or ban customers indefinitely, and this rule goes for adults as well. There will be more safety precautions than I’ve seen anywhere else, but also a lot more fun.”

Scott Tucker’s shooting range, “Tuck’s Place” will be open to the public this November.
