(Newswire.net — January 17, 2015) — Level 5 Motorsports driver Jeff Segal, along with co-driver Luigi Lucchini, won a second place finish at the Italian GT Championship. The race took place at Vallelunga Circuit.
Segal, who was driving for BMS Scuderia Italia, raced in the No. 77 car, a Ferrari 458 GT3. As a second place finisher, Segal along with Lucchini, stepped onto the podium to celebrate with a traditional spray of champagne.
“I really enjoyed the entire experience there, so big thanks to the team and my co-driver Luigi Lucchini for having me,” said Segal. “As always, I would have preferred to get a win, so I guess I will have to go back soon.”
The opportunity to participate in the Italian GT Championship at Vallelunga presented itself because No. 77’s usual driver, Alessandro Pier Guidi, who had co-driven with Segal before, was booked for another race in the GT Asia Series. Because of Segal’s experience racing Ferraris with Level 5 Motorsports and his winning record, he was an ideal candidate to fill in for Guidi.
Jeff Segal is a 29 year old race driver, and was the youngest person to win the Ferrari Challenge at age 17. Segal won the 2014 24 Hours of Daytona with Level 5 Motorsports team. Segal’s racing experience is a resource for other race teams and Ferrari owners who use Segal as a driver coach as they train for the world of racing. The Italian GT Championship race adds to Segal’s experience and winning record.
