(Newswire.net — January 17, 2015)  — Level 5 Motorsports brought driver Jeff Segal and the No. 90 Ferrari F458 GT to Japan to participate in the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) World Endurance Championship Race. The race, called the “Six Hours of Fuji,” takes place at the Fuji Speedway, located in the foothills of Mount Fuji.

The endurance race lasted six hours, and Segal was aided by co-drivers Gianluca Roda and Paolo Ruberti. The Level 5 Motorsports team placed 27th in the race. The Fuji Speedway track is known to be a tricky one, especially when combined with rainy weather.

For Segal, the experience was a new one. Despite his long history of racing, the racer had never participated in a Japanese World Endurance Championship.

“The fans [in Japan] seem incredibly passionate and knowledgeable, which gives us a great atmosphere for a race,” said Segal.

The “Six Hours of Fuji,” also known as the Fuji 1000 Kilometers, is a race with a long history. The first one was run in 1967 through 1992 as part of various circuits. In 2012, the FIA World Endurance Championship rekindled the race.

Jeff Segal is a 29 year old race driver, and was the youngest person to win the Ferrari Challenge at age 17. Segal won the 2014 24 Hours of Daytona with Level 5 Motorsports team. Segal’s racing experience is a resource for other race teams and Ferrari owners who use Segal as a driver coach as they train for the world of racing.
