APT Announces The House Of Commons

(Newswire.net — February 20, 2015) Hollywood, CA — African Playhouse Theater (APT) presents the House of Commons is a new way to play in Hollywood theater productions. APT a media production outlet started by four Nigerian actors based in Hollywood, they tackle trends of the day via a special segment called the House of Commons. The format of the House of Commons features a panel discussion by the four founding members and occassionally followed by skits, done in a satirical and quirky way.  

 

Our goal is Education Information and Entertainment (EduInfoTainment) said one of the founding producers of African Playhouse Theater. The four guys that founded this group are Pascal Atuma, LD Damola, Enyi Osuji and Ike Onuoha.

 

A biography of the cast members

 

Pascal Atuma

A Nigerian born actor based in Hollywood is a screenwriter, film producer, film director, and comedian. He has written and produced eight feature films to date. Pascal also directed four of those feature films. Born in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria to a large family of seven, Pascal moved to the United States in 1995 after attending Government College Umuahia and the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State, Nigeria. He initially pursued a career as a civil engineer before switching gears to a career in the entertainment industry.

In 2002, he graduated from the Kim Dawson Acting College in Dallas, Texas, and dabbled in theater before relocating to Hollywood. Pascal has blossomed into a creative and talented professional, working with Hollywood greats such as Vivica A Fox, Luenell, Billy Dee Williams, Lynn Whitfield etc, just to name a few.  You can see the videos here

 

 

LD Damola 

Born in Washington DC, raised in Festac Town Nigeria. Studied Media Arts  and Computer Science at the Oxford Institute of Technology Los Angeles California . Worked for The State of California as a Career Counselor for 10 years, worked for JP Morgan Chase as a Personal Banker for 4 years. 

 is a Creative Arts Director at 77tele.tv more of his skills are

•Create and Design concepts, illustrations, cinematography and all aspects of project. 
Supervise and coordinate the work of camera, lighting, design, and sound crewmembers.
•Select plays or scripts for production, and determine how material should be interpreted and performed.
•Study and research scripts to determine how they should be directed.
•Formulate basic layout design or presentation approach and specify material details, such as style and size of type, photographs, graphics, animation, video, and sound.
•Work with creative directors to develop design solutions.

 

Enyi Osuji

Born in Chicago Illinois. He moved to California when he was three years old, basically grew up in Southern California. He graduated from The University of California Davis in 2014, where I studied dramatic arts with emphasis in acting. Enyi appeared in one Nigerian movie but has had quite a bit of stage performance experience.

Ike Onuoha

Ike Onuoha (a.k.a Ike Steele) is an LA based actor, model and producer. Ike was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria before migrating to Houston, Texas in the mid 90s. He arrived Los Angeles in 2003, where he honed his craft. He studied with Los Angeles finest acting coaches such as Joel Asher, Bobby Chance and the nationally known Playhouse West School-Repertory Theatre. Ike, born a natural competitor, with a strong work-ethic soon joined the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) in December of 2003, after working with academy award-winning director Steven Spielberg in the “The Terminal.” Ike has been featured in numerous music videos with major artistes such as Beyonce Knowles (Naughty Girls), Britney Spears (Toxic), Kelly Clarkson’s (Walk Away) and John Legend featuring Kanye West (Used to Love You). Ike is pursuing his love for the arts and has starred in independent films such as, The Immigrant – which he produced and starred in, Close Enemies, Casanova’s Guide to Five Reasons Why Women Cheat, My American Nurse II. He is also starring, producing and executively producing his next movie ‘The Exchange’. Ike’s recent co-starring debut on Fox TV show – Touch featured a captivating and thrilling performance of the budding actor.
