Is Google AdWords Dominance For Business Under Serious Threat?

(Newswire.net — March 17, 2015) Wantirna, Victoria — Jorge Barba, a veteran marketer and business owner has recently discovered that more and more business people are abandoning their AdWords marketing campaign – and for good reason.

While AdWords advertising is still very effective and highly targeted, the cost sometimes outweigh the profit especially since the cost-per-click competition is pretty stiff. This, without the guarantee of a high ranking if your quality score isn’t quite at par. In essence, advertisers have to shell out a sizable amount of money to receive good leads for their business.

So, if some businesses would cease to use AdWords, where are they heading?

1. Social Ads. Not only is it a cheaper way of running a campaign, it looks less hard sell and more organic. People who come in contact with the ad become more engaged, more likely to stay on your page, and to share the content. It is an easier way of targeting a bigger audience. Former Google executive Gokul Rajaram says that brands are remembered 68% more than other Facebook display ads and 4x time more likely to convert into a sale. That’s because friends’ referrals are still what people look to when considering a purchase.

2. Social Groups. This alternative uses a tool to reach out to specific members of larger social groups. Social media platforms such as LinkedIn allows you to send e-mail to a specific group. Facebook groups allow networking and a better level of engagement for your clients/customers.

3. Direct Contact E-mail Campaigns. With the right strategy, direct e-mail marketing can work wonders for your business. There are tools available now that will help segment your market and personalize each message to make it individualized. As direct contact e-mail is usually an opt-in approach, where recipients sign up for updates, there’s a better chance that what you send out is expected and anticipated. Plus, some tools allow access to metrics that determine how many messages were opened and clicks generated. These email marketing tools don’t require businesses to pay huge amount of money just like they pay for each click in traditional pay-per-click advertising.

4. Phone Automation. This tool allows you to promote your services or products through calls and messages without needing an army. Phone automation services lets you contact multiple customers at the same time. Leave a voice message or a text to let them know what’s new.

5. Search Apps. A business can simply develop its own search app tool that prioritizes their businesses, clients and/or customers. Think yellow pages in the modern world of technological advances and make sure that your business is listed in the most popular search apps.

These alternatives, being a lot more cost efficient, may just give Google a run for its money.

How badly will affect Google in the long run? Only time can tell.
