(Newswire.net — April 14, 2015) Singapore , Singapore — World-renowned Singapore American School (SAS) is launching its first Summer Semester this year — an alternative to summer camp that once again demonstrates the innovation of this world class school. The program is open to all families in Singapore.
As world class innovators of education, Singapore American School has partnered with other world class organizations in a variety of fields to offer leading edge programs unavailable elsewhere in Singapore. Together, these partners have designed exclusive programs for the SAS Summer Semester students that are sure to challenge and inspire.
Students completing their programs will receive a certificate of participation from the partnering organizations, which include Columbia University Business School, Stanford University, Digipen Institute of Technology, and the Real Madrid Foundation.
Non-SAS students are invited to participate in Summer Semester. Divided into two sessions, with the first session running June 8-June 19 and the second June 22-July 3, the SAS Summer Semester offers programs tailored to students of all ages — from Early Childhood through to High School.
The SAS Summer Semester program focuses on the whole child and presents learning opportunities in three distinct categories:
Intellectual Curiosity: Designed to stimulate the mind by engaging the student in challenging academic courses and projects. Features deep intellectual exploration accompanied by authentic projects developed by students in their areas of passion and interest.
Creative Expression: Brings out the inner artist in multiple ways. The creative process is an excellent way to develop the brain and have fun at the same time. Students can explore new areas of creativity and develop in areas that are already fun and familiar to them.
Sports & Wellness: Maximizes the body and mind through physical activity and sports. Through a selection of team sports and individual activities, this summer semester provides students the opportunity to pursue activities and sports of interest.
