(Newswire.net — May 6, 2015) — In his interview with Katie Couric, prior to his fight with Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather said he did not beat his ex girlfriend in 2010 incident.
“Did I kick, stomp and beat someone? No, that didn’t happen,” Mayweather told Couric. “I look in your face and say, ‘No, that didn’t happen.’ Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did. So if they say that’s domestic violence, then, you know what? I’m guilty … of restraining a person.”
Mayweather’s aggravated ex girlfriend filed a lawsuit claiming that he lied in the interview, asking for stunning $20 million.
In 2010, Harris accused Mayweather for viciously attacking her. The Boxing champion pleaded guilty for kicking and beating Harris to reduced misdemeanor charges, leading to a 90-day jail sentence. However, in an interview with Yahoo’s Katie Couric, Mayweather disputed all the charges and said he just needed to restrain a drug addict.
“Did he beat me to a pulp? No, but I had bruises on my body and contusions and [a] concussion because the hits were to the back of my head. I believe it was planned to do that … because the bruises don’t show,” Harris said in a 2013 interview with Yahoo.
According to Harris, Mayweather was jealous Harris was having a relationship with a new man, NBA player C.J. Watson, then took away Harris’ cellphone and later attacked her inside her home, which is paid with Mayweather’s money.
According to the arrest report, Harris said Mayweather grabbed her by the hair and punched her in the back of the head “with a closed fist several times,”. He then pulled her off the couch by her hair and twisted her left arm, Harris told police, and repeated in 2013 interview.
Harris said Mayweather at one point yelled, “I’m going to kill you and the man you are messing around with. I’m going to have you both disappear.” According to Harris, he also said if one of their three children left the house and called police, he’ll “beat their ass.”
Mayweather’s own son confirmed the story calling his father a “coward.”
Mayweather won in the, some boxing lovers call a “disappointing” match with Pacquiao, which made them both multimillionaires.
“It’s no wonder I don’t watch boxing. Since Mayweather won, there must be some flaw / loophole in the point system aside from money that is. Pacquiao was after Mayweather the entire clip and Mayweather was backing away the whole time. I couldn’t accept that type of win if I was Mayweather. If I was Pacquiao then I could accept the loss knowing I whooped his a$$ and everyone could see it. Every sport has something like this but it seems boxing is the easiest one to identify,” posted aggravated boxing fan as comment below a boxing match video on a YouTube.
