(Newswire.net — January 2, 2016) — The world was shocked after the terrible attacks on tourists in the famous Tunisian resort of Sousse, in June 2015. Armed jihadists ferociously killed about 40 people on the beach. They chose their victims, as they were looking for people from Europe, killing mostly British and German tourists.

Fear of terrorism has spread across the globe, and the atrocities of the “Islamic state” have become increasingly common. The target of the jihadists are Christians from around the world.

In October 2015 they demonstrated their power again, claiming responsibility for shooting down the Russian passenger plane in Egypt. More than 240 people died.

ISIS hit the very center of Europe in November with the gruesome massacre in Paris. In several separate attacks, ISIS killed 140 people and left hundreds injured.

ISIS atrocities have caused demographic changes not only in the Middle East but in all of Europe as well. Millions of refugees have been fleeing from jihadists. It shook Europe: the borders were closed, the wires and fences raised, tension between European politicians became greater.

After all of this, the world will no longer be the same. The fear of terrorism has crept into everyday life.

Russia and many Western countries, the US, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom are fighting against the seed of evil.

It has, however, increased tensions between the East and the West. Turks shot down the Russian fighter aircraft over Syria, causing the world to be found teatering on the edge of World War III.

So, we welcome 2016 as never before: scared, wary and on alert even at the slightest sign of suspicion.

On the other hand, we hope this new year will bring solutions to the current problems, and that the whole world will be more relaxed when entering 2017.
