( — March 1, 2016) Park City, UT — At STAT+MD Urgent Care, the caring physicians and clinicians understand that all facets of health need to be considered, including nutrition and exercise, as well as preventative and primary medical care.

Dr. Jennifer A. Knepper, Chief Medical Officer for STAT+MD states, “A large part of our responsibility to the community is helping educate residents about health matters. As part of these efforts we are encouraging patients and residents of Park City and surrounding areas to participate in National Nutrition month.”

National Nutrition Month®, observed annually in March, is a nutrition education and information campaign sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This campaign shines light on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and exercise habits.

This year’s theme, “Savor the Flavor of Eating Right,” encourages people to take time to enjoy traditions, joys, flavors, and social experiences that food adds to our lives daily. By taking more time to appreciate and savor food, people are able to properly consider how, when, why and where they eat, ultimately developing a more mindful approach to eating.

Throughout this month, health care providers, like those at STAT+MD Urgent Care will be working to educate individuals about the significance of nutrition and physical activity, including providing information about eating disorders, effects of being overweight and obese, steps that can be taken to improve eating and exercise habits, and more.

For more information about how you can improve your overall health through better eating and exercise habits, as well as for all of your primary and urgent medical care needs, visit STAT+MD Urgent Care today.
