(Newswire.net — January 30, 2017) Las Vegas, Nevada — Las Vegas Recovery Center is broadening its in-house treatment curriculum to meet the growing need for addiction recovery resources.

In partnership with Central Recovery Press (CRP), Las Vegas Recovery Center (LVRC) is expanding its treatment curriculum to include books, audio, and video recordings from renowned addiction and codependency author Claudia Black, PhD “Our clients and their families will soon have access to Dr. Black’s complete collection of groundbreaking work,” said LVRC CEO John Seeland.

Since Las Vegas Recovery Center (LVRC) was founded in 2003, it has worked closely with Central Recovery Press (CRP), the publishing arm of LVRC’s parent company, Central Recovery, to craft and produce a diverse selection of addiction and pain recovery guides and workbooks for LVRC clients and their family members.

LVRC is excited to announce that it will soon be adding several dozen books, CDs, and DVDs to its already lengthy list of addiction recovery curriculum titles. This announcement comes with CRP’s recent decision to acquire the assets of Mac Publishing, the Washington-based publishing company of addiction expert Dr. Claudia Black.

Dr. Black, an internationally recognized author, speaker, and trainer, specializes in addiction and its effects on young, adolescent, and adult children. Her books are highly regarded by mental health professionals around the world and have helped millions of Americans better understand the treatment options available to those suffering from the many manifestations of addiction. Dr. Black’s bestseller It Will Never Happen to Me: Children of Alcoholics: As Youngsters—Adolescents—Adults has sold over a million copies, helping to educate multiple generations about the role addiction plays in the family unit and in communities at large. Her work is expected to integrate seamlessly with CRP’s 100-title book collection, which covers a range of mental health topics, including addiction and chronic pain.

“Now even more people will be able to read and benefit from Dr. Black’s work—and that’s exciting,” said John Seeland. “With prescription drug abuse on the rise and the addiction epidemic sweeping the nation, more and more Americans are looking for information on this destructive and deadly disease. Education is such a key part of the recovery process, and we’re happy that LVRC and CRP will be able to meet the increased demand for quality addiction recovery resources.”

The first title LVRC will incorporate into its curriculum will be a rereleased version of Dr. Black’s A Hole in the Sidewalk: A Recovering Person’s Guide to Relapse Prevention. The workbook provides exercises aimed at those in early recovery, which highlight the issues that commonly lead to relapse, such as overconfidence, anger, and resentment.
