Brian Ladin on Los Angeles Clean Power Initiatives

(Newswire.net — May 16, 2017) Dallas, Texas — As global demand for clean energy sources continues to grow, several initiatives have spurred development. Investment professional, Brian D. Ladin, recently discussed the conditional purchase order granted to Ener-Core, Inc., a company that specializes in clean power equipment. The conditional purchase order, worth $3.29 million, is to build, deliver, and install four of the company’s EcoStations at the Toyon Canyon Landfill in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park. These EcoStations are designed to produce up to 1 megawatt (MW) of clean energy over the next 10 to 15 years. “Clean power solutions reduce pollution and make use of waste gases that would otherwise be vented or burned off,” says Brian. “The Los Angeles project is groundbreaking and serves as a model for other municipalities in the U.S. and abroad.” To learn more about the project, visit http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20160519005334/en/Ener-Core-Receives-Purchase-Order-Install-EC-250-EcoStations.

To get the project up and running, Ener-Core partnered with Delos Energy, LLC, the sister company to Delos Shipping, which Brian co-founded with a renowned business entrepreneur. The first step in the project came when Delos Energy acquired Toyon Landfill Gas Conversion, LLC, the company that had held the rights to the landfill gases. The Toyon Canyon Landfill was closed in 1985 and no longer receives waste from the city of Los Angeles. However, waste gases are still present at levels suitable for innovative clean energy-generating systems like those produced by Ener-Core. Traditionally, landfills across the country eliminated waste gases by venting or flaring them, creating harmful levels of nitrogen oxide emissions. Several regulatory hurdles remain for the project partnership, including receipt of a Power Purchase Agreement with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. This agreement will confirm the city’s commitment to purchase clean power from the EcoStation generators at the landfill. “Air quality regulations went into effect that spur the development of alternative energy sources,” add Brian. “Significan reductions in harmful atmospheric emissions are possible with the technology developed and built by Ener-Core.”

Brian Ladin got his start in the business world as an investment manager for several prominent financial firms. His track record of success managing investments and his natural leadership abilities helped him to develop critical tools that he has leveraged in a number of business ventures. The company he co-founded, Delos Shipping, quickly rose to become a global shipping industry leader. He expects Delos Energy to do the same in the power generating industry. “We are excited by the prospect of working with Ener-Core on the Los Angeles project and on other landfill-based energy development initiatives in the future,” says Brian.
