(Newswire.net — June 15, 2018) Orlando, FL — More and more health experts strengthen their warnings against the contributing factors of heart disease, which include living a sedentary lifestyle. Exercise has long been linked with many health benefits, and is thought to even have protective effects.

Scientists analyzed information from over 2,700 individuals. These people had MRIs for heart examination at the start of the study. The examination was repeated 10 years later.

They found that those engaged in a physical activity were able to have beneficial changes in the structure of their heart. What makes it even more beneficial is that it led to a reduced risk of heart failure.

Dr. Roberta Florido says that a small, thick heart is at an increased risk of heart failure. This condition actually pertains to the heart muscles being unable to pump adequate blood to satisfy the body’s needs.

Florido is research fellow in cardiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.

In the study, the investigators looked into the manner people’s heart structures changed over time. They also tried to see if the changes were associated with the activity levels of the participants.

Oftentimes, the walls of the heart get thicker as one ages. Their heart cavities also tend to get smaller. A small heart is believed to be at an increased risk of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

Researchers revealed that the heart improvements took place within a span of ten years of greater increases in physical activity. In the United States, heart failure is actually on the rise.

The American Heart Association even reveals there are 6.5 million American adults who live with heart failure.

In addition to avoiding a sedentary lifestyle, experts have long been suggesting to follow a healthy diet. It is wise to consume foods that contain high levels of heart-health-enhancing properties.

There are also natural remedies being studied due to their beneficial effects on heart health. One is L-Carnitine, which is also thought to offer a range of health benefits.

L-Carnitine is known to be a weight loss supplement, as it aids in energy production and fat burning. However, it may also be beneficial for the heart.

New findings show that L-Carnitine supplementation led to reductions in angina symptoms and all causes of mortality. It even caused decreases in ventricular arrhythmias following a heart attack.

Some experts further found this natural remedy was able to stabilize heart cell membranes.

More studies are still underway to validate the heart health benefits of this natural ingredient. There are supplements like Divine Bounty L-Carnitine that are widely resorted to nowadays.
