(Newswire.net — July 27, 2018) Orlando, FL — E. coli bacteria are often the cause of urinary tract infections. However, recent research has found that this infection may have other common causes.
Scientists have revealed that consuming poultry products may potentially increase the risk of UTIs.
Study co-author Dr. Cindy Friedman, of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Foodborne, Waterborne and Environmental Diseases, suggests that there might be a food-borne source of urinary tract infections.
Researchers analyzed the samples of meat from the grocery stores in the United States. They also obtained urine samples from those with UTIs. They were searching for the presence of the Escherichia coli bacteria.
There are many strains of bacteria that are harmless, while others cause urinary tract infections. E. coli is one of the six strains and it caused most of the UTI cases worldwide.
Scientists were able to detect three strains in the meat samples they tested, and they were from poultry products.
The study was recently presented at IDWeek 2017, an infectious disease conference in San Diego.
According to study co-author Dr. Reina Yamaji, a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of California, Berkeley’s School of Public Health, E. coli bacteria are responsible for around 80 percent of UTIs in humans.
However, she added, the exact source of the harmful bacteria has not been clearly identified yet.
Urinary tract infections cause pain, burning sensation while peeing, and some other symptoms. This type of infection occurs not just in humans, but also dogs.
Health care providers strongly recommend resorting to the measures necessary just to prevent the onset of this infection. This can be made by increasing water intake and using D-Mannose.
It is important to prevent the development of the infection to avoid the use of antibiotics. This type of medication is widely prescribed by doctors in cases of urinary tract infections.
Unfortunately, this type of medication has been being widely studied due to its undesirable health effects. In addition to killing the E. coli bacteria, this medication also destroys the good bacteria.
This means the body ends up having less levels of beneficial bacteria, and this is not good for health. The good news is that there are safer alternatives, such as D-Mannose. This natural ingredient can be found in cranberry, and is believed to be an all-natural, safe weapon against UTIs. D-Mannose sticks to the UTI-causing bacteria and eliminates them from the body. Through this action, it has a great potential to prevent and treat UTIs.
Purest Vantage D-Mannose is a formula that many sufferers of UTIs resort to. It is eve extremely popular among those who want to prevent the onset of infection.
