(Newswire.net — August 8, 2018) Orlando, FL — Sleep has long been considered not just important, but necessary for health and human survival. In a recent study, it has been found to also have an influence on one’s diet.

In a King’s College London (KCL) study, the scientists were able to strengthen the association between a poor quality diet and lack of sleep.

This is due to their findings that demonstrate adults with increasing amount of sleep said they consumed less sugary foods. Further, they were also able to make better nutritional choices.

This study was featured in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

The investigators aimed to see what the effects are in 21 adults who increased sleep. They were previously getting less than the recommended minimum duration of seven hours of sleep per night.

Extended duration of sleep led to a decrease in free sugar intake. The subjects were instructed to avoid caffeine before sleep. They were also able to establish a relaxing routine and tried to not sleep too hungry or too full.

It was found that there 86 percent of subjects spent more time in bed and about half were able to increase their sleep duration. Investigators also found that extending sleep patterns led to a 10g decrease in the intake of free sugars than the baseline levels.

They also observed trends for decreases in carb intake among those who are actually getting more sleep.

According to principal investigator Dr. Wendy Hall, from KCL’s department of nutritional sciences, a simple change in lifestyle may be helpful in encouraging people to have healthier diets.

Achieving quality and longer sleep can have many benefits, not just on health but also on the eating behavior of people. While sleep is beneficial, it is important to stress that not many are able to get it.

There are quite a number of people who end up sick because they are unable to get a decent sleep. There are people who turn to the use of sleeping pills, but end up not getting the help they need.

Many nutrients from healthy food are found to be significantly helpful in sleep improvement. This is why it is always advised to have a healthy diet, as many foods like fruits and vegetables are loaded with sleep-enhancing nutrients.

In addition to choosing the right foods, it is wise to ensure that their nutrients are properly absorbed by the body. This can be achieved through the use of digestive enzymes, which break down food and increase nutrient absorption.

Digestive enzymes may help the body get the best benefits of sleep-promoting nutrients. It may be wise to take into account the use of Divine Bounty Digestive Enzymes.
