(Newswire.net — October 31, 2018) Orlando, FL — Research reveals that air pollution exposure could impact cognitive function of children.

According to scientists who conducted this new European research, this happens as a result of structural changes to the brain.

This study was carried out by researchers from the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) in Spain and Erasmus University Medical Center in the Netherlands.

Investigators looked into air pollution levels in homes and the effects of an air pollutant caused by cigarette smoking and traffic.

It was found that exposure to the fine particles of pollution during the foetal life of children was linked with a thinner outer layer of the brain, called the cortex, in several regions.

According to them, the structural change could contribute to impaired inhibitory control. This pertains to the ability to regulate self-control over temptations and impulsive behavior.

The research team further found that there is a relationship between the alterations of brain structure and fine particle exposure.

Experts strongly recommend resorting to the measures necessary in protecting the child during foetal life and lactation. Reducing exposure to air pollution is recommended not just for pregnant women, but also everyone.

Health authorities have long been stressing the importance of nutrients like vitamin B12 in pregnancy and lactation.

According to experts, this vitamin plays a major role in the development of the nervous system and the brain. Adequate amounts of vitamin B12 have been found to be particularly helpful for an unborn baby in the womb.

Enough levels of vitamin B 12 could potentially ensure optimal development.

Scientists found that vitamin B12 concentration in the placenta, and even in the blood of a newborn is about twice as much of the concentration in the blood of the mother. This certainly shows the importance of adequate B12 supply in the development phase.

Experts further warn that a vitamin B12 deficiency can have serious consequences for the child. Severe cases include termination of the pregnancy or even permanent neurological damage.

In times of breastfeeding, this nutrient is also needed.

It is worth mentioning that the brain, body, and nervous system actually continue to develop following the birth at an increasing rate. This means that breastfeeders have a daily requirement of the B vitamin that is higher than during pregnancy.

It has also been found that breast milk has vitamin B12 amounts as much as those found in the mother’s blood. Proper nutrition, particularly increased intake of B12, could help in breast milk supply.

To experience its benefits, it is wise to consider the use of Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex.

It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6.
