(Newswire.net — January 30, 2019) Orlando, FL — Anxiety can happen from time to time, but when it gets so unreasonably frequent it may then be a disorder.

Health authorities recommend speaking with a health care provider when experiencing the symptoms of anxiety. There are many types of this condition, and one is generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) has revealed that in the United States, anxiety disorders affect 18.1 percent of the adult population.

This means approximately 40 million people within the 18 to 54 age bracket are affected by the condition.

The Economic Burden of Anxiety Disorders reveals a study, which was published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry.

It was found that anxiety disorders in the United States led to over $42 billion of cost a year. This is nearly one third of the $148 billion total mental health bill for the U.S.

It is worth mentioning that anxiety actually comes in different forms, such as phobia, panic attacks, and social anxiety.

Sally Winston, PsyD., said that the distinction between an anxiety disorder and just having normal anxiety is whether your emotions are causing a lot of suffering and dysfunction.

Winston is the co-director of the Anxiety and Stress Disorder Institute of Maryland in Towson.

Some of the common symptoms of anxiety are trouble falling or staying asleep, irrational fears, muscle tension, chronic indigestion, stage fright, and self-consciousness.

Experts warn that those with an anxiety disorder tend to be more likely to see a doctor by three to five times. They are also six times more susceptible to being hospitalized for psychiatric disorders than non-sufferers.

A study was performed at the University of Toronto Scarborough and Rotman School of Management with professors Julie McCarthy and John Trougakos, along with Bonnie Cheng from Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

It was found that high levels of emotional exhaustion due to workplace anxiety directly result in lower job performance.

While there are medications available, it is worth mentioning that some researchers recommend the use of some natural remedies. One is ashwagandha, which has long been used in India in reducing anxiety.

According to some experts, ashwagandha has demonstrated a great potential in improving both mental and physical health.

The Institute of Medical Sciences at Banaras Hindu University, India, has even studied the anti-depressant and anxiety-fighting benefits of ashwagandha.

Today, there are many people who turn to the use of Divine Bounty Ashwagandha, which is believed to be superior over other brands.
