Health Authorities Warn Against Some Side Effects of Antidepressants

According to experts, individuals with moderate to severe depression are often prescribed with an antidepressant drug. While they offer relief and may work, they are not beneficial for everyone as their effects vary from one person to another.

The scientists stressed that there were no improvements in the placebo group. Those who received the larger dose experienced some improvements in their self-esteem.

Another study also used rhodiola and compared its effects on a commonly prescribed antidepressant. There were 57 participants with diagnosed depression and they were treated with rhodiola and placebo for 12 weeks. 

Rhodiola has been found to reduce depression symptoms and was better tolerated than the other treatment.

More studies are still underway to validate the depression-fighting benefits of rhodiola. However, it is worth mentioning that its use is highly recommended and even widespread.
