(Newswire.net — May 8, 2020) — At the moment most of the world is on lockdown because of the global pandemic we are facing but the stuff which I want to talk about today is not just about when you are trapped inside for events like this, they can also apply to being at home when things return to normal. I was inspired to write this by my buddy Menos Hiras, who I speak to every couple of days and who has a really positive work/life balance. Menos is super organized and that is what I want to touch on today, more specifically, why this is so important.
Relaxation
Have you ever sat down and wiled away the time for a couple of hours, perhaps watching TV or browsing social media, but then not really feel as though you have relaxed? If so this is because you didn’t dedicate yourself to it, but you stumbled upon it instead. I can guarantee that had you pencilled in 2 hours for some relaxation that you probably wouldn’t have spent as much time on social media, but you would have decided to do something better which would have left you feeling much more relaxed. There is a big difference between doing nothing and relaxing, and planning that time is crucial.
Concept of Time
There is a very easy split which you can make in your mind about the day ahead, there are 24 hours in a day, if you sleep for 8 and work for 8, then that leaves 8 to relax, work out, cook, eat, and enjoy life. This 8 hours of work however must be carefully mapped out or you won’t be able to make it effective. Let’s say that you work in 6 sessions, 4 one hour slots and 2 two hour slots, that is a slap-dash way to work and you may not get what you wanted completed. If however you split that into 2 four hour slots then you will be far more productive. The point of all of this, regardless of how you split those 8 hours, is that it is vital to organize them and plan them in, or you may not have the motivation to complete them.
Learning and Moving Forward
There will be 2 sets of people once this pandemic is over, those who look back on quarantine and feel proud of what they achieved, and those who look back and wish that they had done more. This is not just about lockdown of course, but the example serves perfectly to remind people that time goes by very quickly and it is much better to have spent that time actively doing something rather than loafing. In order to achieve those things which you are looking for it is essential that you switch your organization skills up, in doing so you will have the spark and the motivation to achieve the things that you want to, so that you can look back and feel happy about how you have spent your time.
How will you be looking back?
