(Newswire.net — September 1, 2020) Orlando, FL — In the United States, heart disease is not just highly prevalent but it also claims more and more lives. The good news is that some activities have been found by studies to be helpful for heart health.

In a new research from Finland, it has been found that sauna-loving individuals aged 50 and older may reduce their risk of death from heart disease by spending more than 45 minutes in a sauna every week.

This was a 15-year study that also found improvements were less in the 10 percent of individuals who spent less than 15 minutes a week in saunas.

The study findings were published in the Nov. 28 in the journal BMC Medicine.

According to study co-author Dr. Jari Laukkanen, there are several possible reasons why sauna use may decrease the risk of death due to cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Laukkanen is head of cardiology at the University of Eastern Finland.

“Our research team has shown in previous studies that high sauna use is associated with lower blood pressure,” he noted.

The investigators suggest that sauna can encourage the increase in heart rate equal to that seen in low- to moderate-intensity physical exercise.

More studies are still underway to learn more about the therapeutic remedies for the heart. As the rates of cardiovascular ailments continue to soar, experts have been strongly stressing the importance of taking heart health and preventive measures.

In addition to having healthy dietary and lifestyle practices, experts also stress the importance of using some phytochemicals like curcumin. It is important to realize that it has been scientifically found to offer protection to the heart due to its anti-inflammatory action, antioxidant activity and anti-platelet actions.

Scientists say that curcumin has an impact on calcium homeostasis and due to its inflammation-fighting properties, it could potentially inhibit arrhythmia.

Its anti-inflammatory actions may also be beneficial against conditions like cardiac fibrosis, myocarditis, and atherosclerosis, which can all trigger serious heart complications.

What makes it all the more beneficial is that it could also offer protection against heart attacks. It could act on some genes identified to affect cardiac repair and function after a heart attack.

Some scientists also suggest it could aid in decreasing the risk of atherosclerosis.

More studies are still being carried out to explore more of curcumin’s heart health benefits. However, it is worth noting that its use has long been highly recommended.

Formulas like Divine Bounty Curcumin may aid in delivering the powerful healing benefits of this phytochemical (https://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-BioPerine-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00VSVKJ8I).
