The Aftereffects Of Covid-19

I don’t think I would be surprising anyone if I said that Covid-19 shook the world. Economies were turned upside down worldwide and personal plans were destroyed. Summers because quarantines and tour were cancelled. Trips and adventures had to be postponed and everything went online. I speak of this as if it’s in the past, but it still continues in many countries around the globe. However, this being said, there have been many corporations, institutions, and organizations that have decided that they’re ready to open up their doors again and welcome in the public once more. Here are 3 sources of entertainment that we took for granted, missed, and now have once more.

1.

Organized sports. It almost seemed unreal last month when I passed my local ballpark and saw a little league team warming up and playing catch. They had been told that they were once again sanctioned to play and had begun practice again! This was not only at the little league scale, but much bigger. As many already know, the NBA decided that it was time for the playoffs to begin again and created the “bubble.” The playoffs are held in Disney World in Florida. All of the players were required to be tested before entering and stay away from others until they were admitted into the bubble. Once they were admitted they were told that they would be unallowed to leave until their team was either eliminated, or the playoffs were over. Families were required to stay home and nobody was allowed to enter in or out of the bubble. But we have sports again!

2.

Speaking of Disney World, Universal Orlando has once again begun to allow guests and visitors into the park! With early park admission to Universal a select number of visitors have been given the “ok” once more to visit the park! Not only do they get to enjoy the rides that they’ve been longing to ride, but I can only imagine that the lines aren’t as bad as they normally are.

3.

Movie theaters! Now this one’s a little tricky. Movie theaters worldwide have begun to open up once more, but they’re all doing it in separate ways. Some theaters in Japan have redesigned their entire showing room to incorporate safe social distancing regimens and ensure the safety of their guests. They consist of different rooms separated entirely from the other movie watchers not associated with your group. There’s still one large screen, but it seems like almost everyone gets a front row seat. Most theaters however, have simply only made every third seat available, this mandates a 6ft separation between guests and promotes good behavior as well.

This pandemic has shaken things up quite a bit, but it’s comforting to see that we’ve adapted and overcome. We’ve changed the better fit the criteria and have once more earned the privilege of social interaction. So go out, be safe, and enjoy life as you should.
