( — November 19, 2020) Orlando, FL — Sleep has long been a popular subject of research due to its effects on disease-protection. Researchers have even looked into its impacts on brain health and how it could be prevented.

One study was carried out by neuroscientists Matthew Walker and Joseph Winer from the University of California, Berkeley.

They suggest that one of the biggest defense against the virulent form of dementia is plenty of restorative, deep sleep.

According to Walker, they found that the sleep you’re having right now is almost like a crystal ball telling you when and how fast Alzheimer’s pathology will develop in your brain.

It is worth noting Walker is a UC Berkeley professor of psychology and neuroscience and senior author of the paper.

This paper was published in the journal Current Biology.

“The brain washes itself during deep sleep, and so there may be the chance to turn back the clock by getting more sleep earlier in life,” he adds.

There have been quite a number of research studies revealing the techniques to ward off dementia. There are those suggesting that certain nutrients like B vitamins could be particularly beneficial.

According to some studies, B vitamins do not only aid in preventing infections but also support adequate energy levels, growth of red blood cells, cell health, good eyesight, and a healthy brain function.

It is also found these nutrients work in promoting healthy appetite, proper nerve function, good digestion, cardiovascular health, and the production of cholesterol and hormones. When it comes to enhancing brain health and lessening the odds of Alzheimer’s, nutrients like Vitamin B6 may be useful.

Studies reveal that it may play a role in enhancing brain function. What makes it all the more beneficial is that it has shown potentials in preventing the odds of Alzheimer’s disease. There have actually been many studies showing the healing goodness of this nutrient.

It has been found to lessen high blood levels of homocysteine, which may increase the odds of Alzheimer’s disease. Various studies have demonstrated the ability of B6 to be protective to brain health.
