From the ancient ages, man has started exploring the world. They have sailed through the large oceans so as to discover new land masses as well as their wealth. From the initiation of the modern age, the Europeans have started sailing through the oceans and they have expanded their rule on those areas like America, Asia, and Africa. Previously the boats used to have several hulls which used to drive them towards the wind. On the other hand, if they had to go towards the opposite directions, they used to put them down. This was the way they kept the oceans unpolluted.

Nowadays, modern machinery and technologies have increased the speed of ships but they also have increased the pollution level of the seawater by pouring oils and other pollutants into it. Keeping that in mind some of the boat makers throughout the world have decided to roll out electric catamarans. These vessels are slightly longer and are providing greater performances due to the presence of their hull which has been designed especially for these boats. The new models of these boats contain more solar panels than the previous ones. The most unique thing in these boats is the kite wing that provides more propulsion to the boat.

The boat has been named Silent 60 which has its ancestor as Silent 55. These boats are equipped with solar panels and are really good as a non-polluting vehicle through the sea. The new-look Silent 60 is having a length of 60 meters along with a longer waterline. It also has a reverse bow which indicates that the most forward point of the boat is not at its top but at the bottom. The power supply unit of the boat is also non-polluting as 42 solar panels are there to generate electricity.

It has a really powerful battery which combines for 17kW and they feed 286 kWh batteries whereas the previous model had a battery power of 210kWh and 30 solar panels. The power for the propulsion is provided from a 340kW battery which is enough to achieve a speed of nearly 20 knots which is almost equivalent to 37 kmph. The solar panels of the Silent 60 are so powerful that they can even take the vessel up to 100 miles every day depending only on the solar power.

Now if you are interested to know about the kite, then the surface area of it is about 13 sqm. It is capable of generating 10 times more power per square meter than the hull of a conventional boat. If both the power sources are active during sailing, the kite hull is capable of increasing the speed of the boat by 9km/h. The boat is also equipped to sail on shallow water and this is why the draft of this newly designed boat is less than a meter. Only two people as crew members can handle it properly.
