(Newswire.net — December 16, 2021) Orlando, FL — Statistics continue to warn against the increasing rates of stroke. In the United States, it has been found to be the fifth top cause of death.

In a study, it has been found that older Americans with no major health issues may be about one in 10 who had a stroke unknowingly.

Experts say that such silent stroke may not be severe enough to produce recognizable symptoms, such as facial weakness, vision problems, or trouble walking. However, it is worth noting that there is still a blockage in the brain artery.

The study was spearheaded by Dr. Sudha Seshadri, an associate professor of neurology at Boston University.

Such an estimate was based on a new study of 2,040 individuals with an average age of 62, in a long-running Framingham Offspring Study.

The report was published in the online issue of Stroke.

“On average, compared to age-matched controls, those with lesions do have subtle signs, such as loss of flexibility of talk,” Seshadri said.

Health authorities have long been warning against stroke and the undesirable health consequences it could produce. It is important to realize that this condition is preventable, and there are measures scientifically found helpful in fighting it.

It is worth noting that certain nutrients may work wonders in potentially fighting stroke. One is vitamin C, which has long been reputed to help in enhancing and improving brain health.

French researchers carried out a study and found that individuals deficient in vitamin C might be at a heightened risk for bleeding in the brain, which is also called a hemorrhagic stroke.

Experts warn that hemorrhagic strokes make up only 15 percent of all strokes. However, they usually are deadlier than ischemic strokes.

According to Dr. Stephane Vannier, lead researcher, this study suggests that a low level of vitamin C is a risk for spontaneous brain hemorrhages.

Dr. Vannier is from Pontchaillou University Hospital in Rennes. The results of the study were presented at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology.

Experts suggest that vitamin C may potentially play a role in reducing blood pressure as well as maintaining healthy blood vessels.

This nutrient can be found in a wide array of fruits and vegetables, such as strawberries, oranges, and peppers. However, highly potent and pure formulas like Divine Bounty Men’s Multivitamins may be helpful.
