Raised Cholesterol Found to Claim More and More Lives, Health Authorities Warn

(Newswire.net — December 21, 2021) Orlando, FL — Scientists and health authorities have been warning against raised cholesterol, which increases the risks of stroke and heart disease.

Researchers warn that it leads to 4.5 percent of total or 2.6 million deaths as well as 29.7 million disability-adjusted life years (DALYS).

In managing healthy cholesterol levels, it is worth realizing that some foods have been found to contribute to high bad or LDL cholesterol.

The American Heart Association (AHA), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say that opting for foods that contain unsaturated fats over those that contain saturated or trans fats is effective in preserving cardiovascular health.

A study, which was published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, revealed that cutting intake of saturated fat by 5 percent led to significantly fewer incidences of coronary illness or coronary-related death.

The AHA also recommends limiting the intake of foods like pork, lamb, fatty beef, potato chips, packaged cakes and cookies, poultry with skin, and dairy products.

Today, more and more scientists are looking into the cholesterol-regulating effects of some natural remedies like resveratrol.

According to some studies involving animals, these therapeutic compounds may alter blood fats in a healthy way. It is worth realizing that resveratrol is widely researched today due to its remarkable ability to protect heart health.

Scientists found that in mice subjects, resveratrol use led to a decrease in the average total cholesterol levels and body weight. What makes the findings even more beneficial is that it also enhanced levels of good HDL cholesterol.

It has been found that resveratrol appears to reduce the effect of a certain enzyme that takes care of controlling the production of cholesterol. Through this action, this natural remedy is found to improve cholesterol levels.

Due to its antioxidant effects, this powerful compound also reduces LDL cholesterol oxidation, which has been found to contribute to the plaque buildup in the artery walls.

There are other mechanisms resveratrol works in helping manage cholesterol levels. Today, its use is widespread via supplementation like Divine Bounty Resveratrol.
