(Newswire.net — May 5, 2022) Orlando, FL — Excessive intake of sugar has long been associated with a myriad of undesirable health issues. There are many studies today that look into the impacts of this food ingredient, especially the benefits of lessening its intake.

A study has shown that lessening sugar in packaged foods can prevent disease in millions.

This study was carried out by A team of researchers from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), the Friedman School of Nutrition Science & Policy at Tufts University, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOH).

It has particularly shown that reducing sugar in packaged foods by 20 percent and by 40 percent from beverages may help prevent 2.48 million cases of cardiovascular events. These include heart attacks, strokes, and cardiac arrests.

Further, it may also prevent 490,000 cardiovascular deaths and 750,000 diabetes cases in the United States over the lifetime of the adult population.

The findings of this research were published in Circulation.

The investigators in this study created a model to simulate and quantify the economic, health, and equity impacts of a pragmatic sugar-reduction policy, which was proposed by the U.S. National Salt and Sugar Reduction Initiative (NSSRI).

“We hope that this study will help push the reformulation initiative forward in the next few years,” says Siyi Shangguan, MD, MPH, lead author, an attending physician at MGH.

“Reducing the sugar content of commercially prepared foods and beverages will have a larger impact on the health of Americans than other initiatives to cut sugar, such as imposing a sugar tax, labeling added sugar content, or banning sugary drinks in schools.”

Sugar has long been known to be one of the most obvious additives in the food supply that should be lessened in reasonable amounts. The findings of this study could be helpful in implementing a national program involving voluntary sugar reduction targets.

Sugar is just one of the ingredients that experts warn against, especially when it’s consumed in high amounts. It is worth noting that there are many other ingredients found to be major threats to the various aspects of human health.

Unhealthy substances, industrial chemicals, and toxins can be found in widely-consumed processed foods. When these substances accumulate, they weaken the body making it more susceptible to certain health issues.

It may be helpful to unburden the system and toxins, and one of the ways to do it is to use Divine Bounty Activated Charcoal. (https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Activated-Charcoal-Capsules-Whitening/dp/B071NZ5G56)
