(Newswire.net — July 12, 2022) Orlando, FL — The scientific community has long been carrying out studies to look into all-natural pain-relievers, and these include the use of a medicinal spice called turmeric.

According to experts, this centuries-old spice is often used in preparing curries and is now taken widely through supplementation.

In various research studies, it has been found to have the potential to combat a range of diseases. These particularly include cardiovascular ailments, cancers, heart disease, and arthritis.

Animal studies and preliminary trials suggest that the use of curcumin may work in easing arthritis symptoms.

It is worth noting that curcumin is a phytochemical that can be found in turmeric. This phytochemical has antifungal, adaptogenic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticarcinogenic, antiproliferative, antiviral, androgenic, antifibrotic, neurorestorative, and metal-chelating properties.

It also contains anti-platelet, antioxidant, anti-amyloidogenic, anti-cytotoxic, antibiotic, antimicrobial, anti-purulent, immunomodulating, and anti-catabolic agents.

In a pilot study involving 45 human subjects with rheumatoid arthritis, the researchers used either curcumin, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (diclofenac sodium), or a combination of the two as a treatment.

It has been found that eight weeks following, the group treated with curcumin experienced the most improvements in symptoms, without any negative gastrointestinal side effects.

Another study was carried out and published in Phytotherapy Research.

In this study, it has been found that subjects with mild-to-moderate knee osteoarthritis treated with curcumin supplements achieved significant improvements. More particularly, they were able to experience improvements in physical function and pain after six weeks of treatment, compared to placebo.

Scientists have been looking into the therapeutic impacts of curcumin on arthritis. It is actually one of the widely studied remedies for the condition.

An analysis of the research was carried out and published in the Journal of Medicinal Food.

In this study, it has been found that the use of turmeric extracts for eight to 12 weeks lessened arthritis-related pain, compared to the placebo.

According to Christopher Morris, MD, turmeric is not meant to replace methotrexate or biologics for RA by any stretch of the imagination.

Morris is a rheumatologist with Arthritis Associates of Kingsport, in Tennessee.

However, it is also worth noting that in patients who can’t take NSAIDs because of other health problems, or can’t tolerate the side effects and want to try something “natural,” turmeric or curcumin can be helpful in alleviating symptoms.

Today, formulas like Divine Bounty Curcumin are widely resorted to by individuals who suffer from arthritis symptoms (https://amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-BioPerine-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00VSVKJ8I).
