Researchers Warn Obesity May Increase Cardiovascular Death Risk

(Newswire.net — November 28, 2022) Orlando, FL — An increasing number of studies are looking into the effects of obesity on overall health. Researchers have long been warning that carrying excess pounds has been time and again found to be linked with the increased risk of certain diseases.

Scientists carried out a meta-analysis of 26 observation studies and it included 390,000 men and women, several racial and ethnic groups, and samples from the U.S. and other countries.

The researchers found a significant link between obesity and death due to CAD and cardiovascular disease.

It has further been found that women with BMIs of 30 or higher had a greater risk of dying early from CAD by 62 percent, and also had a 53 percent increased risk of dying early from any type of cardiovascular disease.

These interesting findings were compared with women who had BMIs in the normal range (18.5 to 24.9). Men with BMIs of 30 or higher had similarly elevated risks.

The good news is that 5 to 10 percent of body weight loss can reduce triglycerides, blood pressure, and LDL cholesterol. It even worked wonders in enhancing other cardiovascular risk factors. There are weight loss remedies that could be helpful like probiotics, which have undeniably been studied for years due to their significance in digestive function and overall health.

In some studies, it has actually been found that they could also work wonders in delivering weight loss benefits due to their ability to impact appetite. This means they are a perfect addition to the diet of individuals who are having trouble losing extra pounds because they often found themselves hungry.

According to researchers, certain probiotics may have a strong influence on how satisfied one feels, and this is due to their ability to regulate the manner the body reacts to leptin, which is a hormone.

It is worth noting that fat cells release leptin to signal the brain that there is enough stored away for energy. This allows the brain to tell the body to lessen appetite. It is also worth noting that obese individuals are likely to develop leptin resistance. This happens when the brain ceases to properly identify those signals when leptin levels get way too high.

A study was carried out and published in the British Journal of Nutrition. It has been found that probiotic supplementation helped leptin signals to reach the brain. This, according to experts, allow subjects to feel more satisfied after a meal, and eventually to lose weight.
