Research now warns against the link between chlamydia and male infertility. The study spearheaded by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) highlighted the possible effect of undiagnosed sexually transmitted chlamydia infection on male fertility.

The investigators found for the first time chlamydia in the testicular tissue biopsies of infertile men whose cause of infertility was not identified.

It is further worth noting that the investigators found antibodies specific to the bacteria responsible in the blood of 12 of 18 donors of the fresh testicular biopsies. It indicated that the male subjects were exposed to the bacteria.

However, it is worth noting that none of the men reported signs of infection or even being diagnosed previously with chlamydia or any other sexually transmitted infection (STI).

The findings of this research were published in the Human Reproduction journal.

It was carried out in collaboration with Monash IVF Group, Hudson Institute of Medical Research, Monash Health, and Queensland Fertility Group.

The key findings have shown that men who underwent tissue testing were moderate to severely infertile, and produced little to no sperm. A majority of them have further been found to have no defined cause of infertility.

“We believe future studies with male patients should look at how chlamydia infection might cause damage to the male reproductive system and contribute to infertility.”

Multiple research studies have highlighted the various techniques helpful in warding off infertility in males. Researchers have time and again warned that there are various factors found to contribute to this health issue.

It is also worth noting that the scientific community is increasingly looking into the various techniques potentially helpful against infertility.

Scientists are even increasingly studying the male fertility benefits of all-natural remedies like ashwagandha.

A study has shown ashwagandha treatment was correlated with an 18 percent increase in a sex hormone involved in testosterone production. Superior-strength formulas like NutraHerbals Ashwagandha widely resort to nowadays, and this is due to their high potency and purity.
