The National School Chaplain Association (405-831-3299), the US’ leading institute for school chaplains, is now offering specialized courses to accredited school teachers.

Given their close connection to public and private schools across the country, the National School Chaplain Association has seen that many school teachers who are drawn to the profession because they love working with children and young people – and because they want to make a difference – quickly become burnt out by time-consuming bureaucratic and administrative demands that take them out of the classroom. That’s why they are proud to now be offering specialized chaplaincy courses to accredited school teachers who want to advance their careers in education outside of the classroom.

Their recently added specialized chaplaincy courses will build on the existing knowledge and skill set that teachers already possess and deepen their understanding of child and adolescent psychology, counseling strategies, and how to deliver spiritual support to children of Christian and other faiths.

The National School Chaplain Association has the utmost respect for the teaching profession, but they know that, in a time of all-time high teacher burnout and all-time low teacher retention, many are walking away from their calling. They understand why, and they believe that becoming a school chaplain is a way for teachers to do genuine good in a school community by providing spiritual and pastoral care.

All current and previous teachers who complete their chaplaincy training with the National School Chaplain Association will receive an accreditation that will allow them to work in elementary, middle, or high schools across the country, and in both public and private education.

The National School Chaplain Association offers flexible and personalized paths of study that can be completed online.

The National School Chaplain Association is the face of school chaplaincy in the United States. They are proud to provide school communities with trained, accredited and passionate school chaplains who are driven to do good.

A spokesperson for the association said, “When chaplains enter a school, they share peace, strength, love, and hope. They provide students with the spiritual care they need to overcome tragedies and hardships to fulfill their dreams and destiny. We hope you will follow the call to provide spiritual care for teachers and students and will complete our chaplain certification and training program.”
