This has made it difficult for people to keep up with all the changes or tell what is necessary and what is not. WhatsApp has been evolving as it strives to cater for the ever changing demands and requirements of its users. It has been rolling out new tools and changes after every few weeks. For example, WhatsApp dreams of one day becoming the WeChat of India and one stop solution for everybody. In its aim to make WhatsApp more user friendly, the Facebook owned firm will be launching a couple of new features. However, none of these are official yet although you will be seeing some new features being launched in the coming weeks.
Here are some of the new WhatsApp features we should expect to be launched in 2019.

The WhatsApp Dark Mode
The WhatsApp Dark Mode will make using WhatsApp at night much easier on the eyes when the messaging platform implements the Dark Mode. There have been rumors of WhatsApp coming up with such a mode for a long time but this has just been confirmed by WABetaInfo that this new feature is still being developed and will soon be launched.

Playing Consecutive Messages
The new WhatsApp Playing Consecutive Messages feature will make it possible for users to automatically play voice messages when sent in sequence. However, immediately after the end of the first voice, WhatsApp will notify user with some sound before it starts playing the next voice message. The user will not have to take any action in between. In case, there are no other voice messages, the WhatsApp will also play a short audio at the end. This feature has already been spotted in iOS v2.18.100 build.

Group Call
WhatsApp will soon be launching a new group call button in group chats. This feature will allow one to start chatting with up to three group members. Previously, one had to first start a call with one friend and only be able to add the other people after a response from the first recipient.

Video Preview in Notification Bar
Soon, WhatsApp will be rolling out new feature which will allow one to directly view videos in the push notification. However, WhatsApp has not yet confirmed when the feature will be released and the form it will be in. It is still under development and the company can make changes that will allow its users to have full control over their privacy.
WhatsApp had earlier introduced a similar preview functionality which allowed its users the ability to preview both GIFs and images.

WhatsApp Contact Ranking
WhatsApp is trying to come up with a new and smart feature that will help the Facebook owned firm rise in its ranking. However, this feature will only be available for the beta iOS users and the contacts will be ranked based on the interaction frequency you have had with the person.
