(Newswire.net — August 22, 2020) — Do you know that Harley Quinn wears 13 different outfits for the movie Birds of Prey?

Erin Benach, Birds of Prey’s costume designer, did all the amazing Harley Quinn costumes for DC’s Extended Universe film. She thought it was nerve-wracking as she had to create the costumes based on their characters, and not on a comic-superhero angle. This means she really familiarized herself with Quinn’s characters and not her abilities as a superhero. Well, knowing that Benach also did Gaga’s wardrobe for A Star Is Born, we weren’t surprised when she also aced this one. Again, she had another test of her strength as a designer and she passed with flying colors.

Come take a look at Harley Quinn’s different costumes for this superhero films:

1. One-piece gold leather overall-styled jumpsuit with a pink bandeau top.

After testing numerous colors, they finally decided to go with the gold as it looks best with the lights. Also, it was really highly functioning and speaks so much of Harley’s character.

2. Pink onesie with crying hearts and a white t-shirt top and jeans with a “Harley F*cking Quinn” showing her independence to the world

She couldn’t have worn anything else but this. It was the perfect costume since she wore them just right after her breakup with the joker.

3. Caution tape jacket that’s made with shredded tape

You’ll see this costume in a scene where Harley blows up Ace Chemicals and runs through Gotham streets and outrunning the cops.

Benach was being super creative and resourceful making this one. Although it looked a little chaotic with the voluminous sleeves and all, it was indeed very Harley. It speaks so much of her punk-rock vibe and the fans loved it! We know you will too!

This was the designer’s favorite to create. The other part of the caution tape said, “Don’t f*” with me, and it was just so Harley!

4. Marilyn Monroe look

This classic look with a modern touch as instead of the full pink gown, Harley wears it with pants! It was totally different and speaks of the character more. She once told the Insider how she came up with the costume. She was sitting at the costume research library, trying to come up with ideas when it just hit her! Eureka – she just thought it was better with pants. And Harley really pulled it off!

5. The Derby Look

This costume — with the iconic red and black color scheme – will remind you of Harley’s signature look in Suicide Squad. They decided to also incorporate this into the movie. It reminded them of where she came from. Yet again, it was a huge success.

6. The blue jacket she wore at the end

Benach said the flames symbolizes her rise from the ashes, just like a phoenix. Discount Universe helped her create this fun blue jacket that was the best finale costume.
