Goodnight sleep gives your body time to recover and empowers you to take on the day. But statistics say that adults are sleep deprived and sleep disorders are on the rise. Americans feel sleepy throughout the day, 3 days a week, which adversely impacts activities, mood & acuity according to a recent study by the Sleep Foundation. Insufficient sleep is leading to major health crises. According to Sleep Health Org statistics;

  • More than 50 million Americans suffer from over 80 different sleep disorders
  • 20 to 30 million suffer intermittent sleep problems
  • At least 25 million Americans (1 in 5 adults) suffer from sleep apnea
  • Chronic insomnia affects at least 10 percent of Americans

This is a major public crisis that needs urgent attention and not enough is done to address the issues of sleeping disorders.

Young adults are realizing the importance of good sleep and the latest reports suggest young adults are investing in sleep hygiene, a way to improve your sleeping-related habit to improve your sleep quality.

The statistics about sleep hygiene say that sleeping disorders can be addressed with a few changes. According to the Sleep Foundation and their statistics about Sleep Hygiene show that a whopping 78% of people say they are more excited to go to bed if they have fresh-smelling sheets while 93% of people say that a comfortable mattress is important to be able to get quality sleep.

This explains the shift in consumer purchasing habits, towards affordable luxury, and beddings are the biggest segments that are growing at an accelerated rate. According to the global home bedding, the market size was valued at USD 73.88 billion in 2020 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.0% from 2021 to 2028.

Young adults with purchasing power are investing in beddings like never before and their habits reflect a new trend of buying consciously. According to Retail Wire, young buyers are environmental and socially conscious; moreover, around half of Americans say they want to be seen as someone who buys eco-friendly products. Additionally, 90 percent of people in their 20s and 30s said they’d buy from brands whose social and environmental policies they trust.

In an endeavor to keep learning about sleeping health and improve the quality of sleep, Pizuna carried out studies on how cotton sheets impacts sleeping better. One of the major conclusions they’ve discovered is cotton’s natural ability to soak moisture helps to keep the skin dry and enhance airflow between the skin and the fabric. This makes skin breathable which ensures sleeping throughout the night without waking up in the middle of the night.
